…sometimes disguises are necessary, but never hide your heart. - Coleman Barks

An early bird and his breakfast discover that friendship comes in many disguises.

trailer

A gang of robins goes about their daily early-bird business of hunting worms when one encounters a worm with unusual talents. Robin’s curiosity wins out over hunger, leading both Robin and Wriggler to find an unexpected guardian angel and friend in each other.

ROBIN & WRIGGLER is a three minute film made from cardboard, fishing lures, and the music of Dvorak about disguises, surprising friendships, and the power of art to change our habits and expand our perspectives.

filmmaking process

Robin & Wriggler was written and directed by Linda Wingerter of The Stringpullers Puppet Company with mentorship from Tim Lagasse (Helpsters, Sesame Street, Between the Lions, Oobi) and Martin Robinson (Helpsters, Sesame Street, The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss) during the Video Anarchy workshop at the O’Neill National Puppetry Conference. Linda built the bird and mammal puppets from discarded cardboard, while worms were recruited from the local bait shop. Performance and production support came from fellow workshop participants Leila Ghaznavi, Gavin Cummins, Joe DeTullio, and Geoffrey Jones.
